Our policy statement

Castlebell (“the Company”) is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to achieving a working environment which provides equality of opportunity and freedom from unlawful discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, pregnancy and maternity, marital or civil partnership status, gender reassignment, disability, religion or beliefs, age or sexual orientation.

We place diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do and the Company aims to provide a working environment and a service that does not discriminate against its employees, clients, candidates or customers.  To that end we have:

  • an internal Diversity and Inclusion strategy which focuses on how we attract, retain and grow diverse talent so that we can create an inclusive workplace that actively promotes and values diversity and;
  • an external strategy that will help us to work more effectively with our clients on diversifying their candidate shortlists whilst helping them to meet their own diversity and inclusion objectives.

We believe that all employees, clients, candidates and customers are entitled to be treated with respect and dignity.

  1. Our equal opportunities commitment and aims

We take the following actions to ensure that we meet our Diversity and Inclusion objectives:

  • We ensure that all of our recruitment activities are inclusive.  This includes avoiding jargon in our advertisements, and not including wording that may stereotype in any way or discourage any groups of people from applying,
  • We recruit from a wide range of sources to ensure we are not limiting our reach.  We constantly strive to recruit from a diverse range of job boards and social media in a bid to attract more diverse candidates who would otherwise not have thought to apply.
  • We objectively filter candidates based on their skills and experience, regardless of their background.
  • We challenge our own culture by seeking candidates that will add to our business rather than just fit it.
  • We will not discriminate when selecting and shortlisting for any vacancy or assignment (whether internally or on behalf of a Client).  We will ensure that each candidate is assessed in accordance with the candidate’s merits, qualifications and ability to perform the relevant duties for the role.
  • We carry out all recruitment, promotion and other types of selection procedures, such as for redundancy exercises, on the basis of merit, using non-discriminatory and, as far as possible, objective criteria.

We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment and are fully committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment.  Every individual that we deal with will receive fair and equal treatment.
